D.I.Y.
As I've written previously, The Democratic Republic of Congo is a do-it-yourself kind of place. So much so that lumber is cut by hand.
Of course, cutting lumber by hand is labor-intensive, but the finished (unfinished, actually) product is beautifully textured, and could undoubtedly be sold for enormous sums to architects in Japan.
The other good news is that the absence of lumber mills in the Congo is delaying the wholesale deforestation of the Congolese rainforest (already under attack from slash and burn agricultural practices).
